THE VERBATIM SALON
The Verbatim Salon is a monthly public event where actors share stories from interviews recorded with people interacting with the US immigration system.
These stories are performed using an in-ear verbatim technique. Actors listen in real time to the recordings via headphones as they speak the words aloud in front of the audience. This technique protects the anonymity of the interview subject, allows stories to be recorded in more intimate one-on-one settings, and includes people who might not be able or willing to share their story in front of an audience.
Each month admission is donation based and 100% of the funds go to a rotating list of organizations supporting immigrants and refugees with a range of services.

THE CLEAR BLUE SKIES: Diaries from Ukraine
Within days of the beginning of the war a group of young people start recording audio diaries and interviews in English about their journeys across Europe, hiding within Ukraine, and under Russian occupation.
In this verbatim performance, actors use this moving and harrowing audio in real time, painting a vivid portrait of the profound and mundane changes in the lives of these young Ukrainians. The result is a riveting narrative about their journey from teenagers in a prosperous independent country to refugees fleeing their homes or trapped under Russian occupation.
